WOW! It is hard to believe that we have a group of Pre-K, well, actually they graduated from our Pre-K program and are registered for Kindergarten.

It will be very different, when some of the sweet faces will not be around these halls anymore. Today, we said "bye" to a couple of girls that just had their last day with us.  Where did the time go?

Our Owner's daughter, Avery will be attending Kindergarten at White Plains this August. It seems like only yesterday that she was one of our first few children at the daycare, when it started three years ago. Three years...Where did the time go?

As for us, August 8th marks the beginning of the NEW curriculum for our NALC teachers. They are excited and eager to begin the new lessons. It is going to be an incredible school year at NALC.

This is Art Week at NALC. Many of the boys and girls have enjoyed special activities and projects in their rooms. Some of the projects are on display in the lobby.

Gomey brought some of his paintings and has placed them on display in the lobby, as well. Stop by and look at everything. The boys and girls will appreciate it.

We had an amazing time at Disney World. It is truly a Magical place. We thought of our friends at NALC and Mickey asked me to tell everyone "Hello,"

Thank You to Ms. Sherri for being the Chef while I was gone. She did an amazing job.

This photo was one of our first pictures taken at the Magic Kingdom. Notice Tinker Bell.

If your child comes to NALC and wonders "Where is Gomey?" He is taking a week of vacation to the Happiest Place on earth, Disney World.

Gomey, Nana, Ms. Karla, Zander, and Zoe will be enjoying a week with Mickey Mouse and having fabulous dinners at WDW. It is going to be a "magical" time for us.

While I am away, someone else will be cooking in the kitchen. Gomey has planned the menu and your children will be in good hands. It might not be the same, but it will most certainly be a good week for your child at NALC.

Unlike Waldo, I will be back, after our vacation, to see our "little friends" at the Center.

Who in the world is going to replace gomey while he is on vacation?

Sherri Stephens will be cooking for your child while gomey is gone. She has been through the "Gomey Cooking Course" and passed with flying colors. Her culinary skills are pretty close to the "real thing." *And I don't mean COKE.

Sherri is an accomplished cook, at her own home, and will bring her own flair and flavor to the menu at NALC. The menu is subject to change, so if you see Sherri out in the parking lot with the grill fired up and ribs on cooking, don't be surprised.

Making Cheese at nalc

Today, I went to the Arctic Room and showed them how to make "Farmer's Cheese." The boys and girls, then, tasted the cheese. After this, I used some of the cheese and made Cottage Cheese. The boys and girls tasted the cheese. Finally, I added two flavors to some of the Farmer's Cheese and let the kids taste it.

The flavored cheeses were "Lime Cheese" and "BBQ Cheese."

Every child tasted the cheese and most of them liked it. One child said the BBQ Cheese tasted like eating BBQ Potato Chips. I agree.

I talked about making cheese and shared the "Little Miss Muffit" poem. That poem says that Miss Muffit was eating her Curds and Whey. (We assume it was Cottage Cheese, but we are not certain.)

I told the kids that I was going to end up with Curds and Whey. (The curds became the cheese and the whey was poured out. Some people use the whey to make bread, but that would have to be another day.)
